CRYSTAL CLEAR IS A NON-YELLOWING SUPER GLOSS CLEAR POLYURETHANE FINISH - IDEAL FOR INTERIOR OR EXTERIOR WOODEN SURFACES

Crystal Clear Super High Gloss covers approximately 300 square feet per gallon; 2 coats recommended for proper application. For a striking and durable polyurethane parquet finish that is easy to maintain, look no further than our Crystal Clear Super High Gloss Clear. Our super gloss polyurethane finish is both chemical and stain resistant, looks great and is easy to apply. COVERAGE: Approximate coverage is 300 square feet per gallon, and recommended thickness will require 2 full coats. To determine the amount of Crystal Clear you will need: length x width of wood floor surface = square feet x 2 (2 coats) divided by 300 square feet = gallons needed. SUGGESTED USES: Use on bare wood floors for a natural look or as a clear final "topcoat" over almost any solvent-based paint or coating for added protection. LIMITATIONS: Do not apply if material, substrate or ambient temperature is below 45 degrees F or above 95 degrees F.

What's best for me? A bit of history can shed some light on today's preference for matte finished floors. All Uptown hardwoods are finished with a 20% matte unless customers want something with a lower sheen or that shows very little sheen. We can also finish any product featured on the site to a more formal 40% semi-gloss level. A low matte level often refers to gloss levels around 10%. Matte generally refers to gloss levels in the twenty percent range, offering 10% to 40% improved shine brings twice the reflective light seen with 20% matte. Both can be a maintenance issue or concern for most new flooring buyers, as many set expectations far too high and compare hardwood flooring almost to that of today's fine piece of furniture. Too many people compare hardwood floors to fine furniture and expect it to be. That same car by the way, many will park away from other cars at the grocery store so it doesn't get scratched...until you get over it. Gloss levels are defined as the amount of reflective light that appears. Other manufacturers have too many terms that confuse many and do NOT include the actual gloss level in terms of percentage. We have refined our gloss levels in percentage terms because consumers are better able to understand it compared to other creative marketing names.

Floor Polish - Hardwood - Gloss - 947 mL is rated 2.9 out of 5 by 40 . This product is the recommended floor polish for my new hardwoods (Casabella - Heritage Hickory - Bear Mountain - HEB5AHBM floors). The product works well and looks great, but any water droplets from hand washing, cooking, ice/water dispenser or any other water source leave the hardwood looking uneven . It seems to have a major flaw in its formulation and I couldn't recommend it for a floor finish unless Bona has an easy fix. I first used Bona Floor Cleaner and really liked it. I've rubbed them plank by plank but can't get the polish off and I'm too nervous to try Bona remover since their other product has gotten them in this state. For reference, our house and floors are less than 2 years old and I used Bona because my warranty booklet said I had to. I used Bona cleanser (which our contractor recommended) and it still cleaned, but today my shine was gone, only a haze. With my new floors I was nervous about using the varnish so we called our contractor who said "Yes". We followed the directions on the bottle, took about 1/3 of the bottle, and used a Bona Micro Buffer. We were selling our house and after the painters removed some of the tape he literally removed what was left of the finish on the floors, that's how bad it was. I've used Bona cleaning solution for years, so maybe that's part of the reason we've had such great results on these 19 year old floors!
